“I feel safe in New York City…”

Christmas 2011

I met Jon Snow!

And he said he “liked my style” when I butted into a conversation and demanded he let me take his photo. Yesssssssss

I’ve been working for the Uni Newspaper and was covering a lecture he was giving. See my pictures here

The Puncture

RIP Tom Swain 1989-2011

Today my fellow classmates and I said goodbye to an amazing guy. By all accounts heard today he was an outstanding person, a talented photographer and a great friend, but anyone who met him knew all those things straight away. I wish I had a few more photographs of him, but I imagine that loads of them would have him crouched behind the camera just like this, probably pulling the mother of all camera-faces as usual.

It’s inspiring and painful to think of what he would have achieved in ten or twenty years. Goodbye Tom - Here’s hoping we all become a little bit less selfish and a little bit more like you.

I’ve been a bit lazy lately…

….it’s been all quiet recently on the creative front. Been doing some more magazine interning, and enjoying the summer. Also have broken my 24-70, which is very annoying.

However, here is something I HAVE done recently, some shots of my friend and neighbour, actor, videographer, and twitter fanatic Chris Overton. Granted I did them a about a metre away from my own front door….but hey, I did say i’d been lazy…

My Job is Fun

Currently still doing a some part time work on the picture desk at Front Magazine. Here’s a behind-the-scenes shot from this months cover shoot. Out today! Go and get your greasy mitts on it, if only to see the ace product shots I did - or perhaps you’d prefer the very pretty naked ladies in the pool…

See Me Save Me

Today I went to the ‘Ghost Bike’ memorial for cyclist Eilidh Jake Cairns, whose death at a Notting Hill Gate junction two years ago has been officially commemorated by the Mayor of London, as part of the ‘See Me Save Me’ campaign launched by her sister Kate.

Ghost bikes have become an increasingly common sight on the roads of London. This is the first of it’s kind to be approved to remain where it was first erected. Most are taken down within a few months, yet many consider them to be an effective reminder to motorists to watch for cyclists and exercise caution.

It was pretty sobering as a cyclist to stand on this road island near where she died and take these shots - here’s hoping this memorial to her will help prevent a few more unnecessary deaths on the road.

Gregg

Today I shot a few portraits of my friend Gregg. I’ve known him for ten years and he winds me up massively. Ever so photogenic though, the handsome bastard.
